LEGAL NOTICE

INVITATION TO BID

TOWN OF STEPHENTOWN

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the TOWN OF STEPHENTOWN is seeking sealed bids

for the following project: the furnishing of all labor and material for the complete removal and

replacement of the existing roof on the Town Hall structure at 26 Grange Hall, Stephentown, NY

12168 per the accompanying specifications. This is a public work project and is subject to

General Municipal Law Art. 5-A.

Sealed bids will be received at Town Hall, 26 Grange Hall Road, Stephentown, NY

The bids will be publicly opened at 7:00 p.m. local time on July 20, 2020 at Town Hall,

26 Grange Hall Road, Stephentown, New York 12168. Sealed bids will be received at the same

location at any time before said opening.

The project shall be completed per the accompanying specifications.

Each sealed enclosure containing a bid is to be endorsed on the outside with the name,

address and telephone number of the bidder and is to state that it contains “Bid for Town Hall

Roof Removal and Replacement”.

Bid security in the form of a 5% bid bond issued by an acceptable surety or bank or

certified check payable to the Town of Stephentown is required.

The successful bidder will be required to provide both a performance bond and a

labor/material payment bond issued by an acceptable sureties and to enter into a written contract

with the Town after the award. This is a prevailing wage job.

The Town of Stephentown reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive any

irregularities in bidding and accept the bid that is best suited for the Town.

Examination of Assessment Inventory and Valuation Data:

Town of Stephentown, Stephentown, NY, 12168. In accordance with Section 501 of the New York State Real Property Tax Law, notice is hereby given that the assessor for the Town of Stephentown has available for review assessment inventory and valuation data. An appointment to review this information can be made by calling Jennifer Van Deusen, Assessor for the Town of Stephentown at (518)733-9195 ext. 1 or come in Wednesday between the open hours of 6:00pm – 9:00pm or Saturday 8:00am – 11:00am.

A Public Hearing was held on Monday, March 9th, 2020, at 7:00PM located at the Town Hall. The Town Board invites residents who could not attend this meeting to our Regular Board Meeting on Monday, March 16th, 2020 at 7:00pm for further discussion and information that was provided at this public hearing. Please take notice the Assessor’s Office and the Town Clerk’s Office will be CLOSED to the public until further notice. Please continue to check this page for updates. If you are not feeling well and you have any cold symptoms please stay home.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE

Due to the recent Coronavirus Pandemic, all court hearings for the month of March and April 2020 have been postponed.  You will receive in the mail, a notice with your new court date.  If you have a hearing in these two months and do not receive a letter by March 31, 2020, please let the court know.  When leaving a message, please make sure to leave your full name, DOB, mailing address, docket or ticket number, speaking slowly and clearly.  You can also contact the court via email at stephentowntowncourt@nycourts.gov.

All fine notices that have been sent out with due dates in the month of March or April, are still required to be paid on time.  Payments will only be accepted by mail, leaving in the drop slot next to the front door of the Stephentown Town Hall, or if paying by MasterCard or Visa, your card information can be faxed to (518) 733-9057, emailed or sent via mail service.  When making payment, please make sure your full name, DOB and mailing address are included.  ALL IN-PERSON VISITS TO THE COURT ARE SUSPENDED!

When leaving a voicemail, include your name, phone number, docket or ticket number and reason for your call.  I will return your call as soon as possible.  You may also email the court at stephentowntowncourt@nycourts.gov or fax at (518) 733-9057.  All calls and emails will be returned as soon as possible.

The Town Clerk’s Hours recently published in the 2020 ERCSWNA calendar are INCORRECT.

The correct hours are:

  • Monday, Wednesday & Friday 5 pm – 7 pm,
  • 2nd and 3rd Saturdays of the month from 9 am – 12 pm, or
  • By appointment made 2 weeks prior

Deputy Town Clerk Hours :

Tuesdays: 10:00am to 1:00pm

(Town Clerk is unavailable at this time – if you need the Town Clerk during this time please leave a message with the Deputy Town Clerk and the Town Clerk will get back to  you the following business day)
